Silicon Dog Web Development

Just another outside dog, thinking I'm an inside dog.

Hello, my name is Jake, and I am on a quest : to become a great full-stack developer.

I recently graduated with a degree in Communication Technology from the University of Texas at Arlington, which primarily focused on: Web Development, User Interaction, and Online Marketing.

I'm always looking for a new technology to play with, and new folks to collaborate with.

My Work

beer broker logo image
Beer Broker is a web-app for sorting brews by calorie, alchohol by volume, or carb count.

I needed something to hand my professor that showed I know how to query a database using PHP and SQL, and output results in HTML5, styled with CSS3.

I also needed a beer, and was on a diet.

Shout out to Nathan G. for designing great responsive comps, and the clever logo. To BeerBroker

a logo for deaf defs DeafDef is a fingerspelling generator and cross ciriculum instruction aide for ASL teachers. It spells a word using signlanguage, then a person attempts to catch the word, and select its correct definition

Deafdefs is a lot like a sign language crossword puzzle.

Developing this web-app prototype was a really great learning experience, it was pair programmed by Harrison Abinilla and myself. Harrison is a really tallented developer and this program wouldn't have gotten anywhere without his mad skills. Check out his other work at: (link coming soon.) To defDeaf
